Meet the Designers

Inamunai

Designer / Mariam Garuba

Inamunai - Designer

Every designer has unique, strong points and special talents which serve as the trademarks and visuals that define their brand. Inamunai’s online store displays the true art forms and essence of several well-known African couture designers. The Inamunai brand was founded by Mariam
Garuba, a native Nigerian with a passion for clothes and dressmaking. She comes from a long line of seamstresses and dressmakers and since childhood has been fascinated by fashion shows and beautiful couture clothing.

Aynai Sy is an “In House Designer” for the Inamunai brand. She comes to the brand with a rich history in fashion and styling, and she brings her bold individual designing style to whatever she does. She prides herself on designing for the fly individual while finding sophisticated elements for the everyday woman. Her contribution is an excellent addition to the Inamunai brand. Together Aynai and Mariam designed the pieces in their very first collection that will debut on the Season 6 runway!

Deborah M

Designer - Marshagay Raymond

Marshagay Raymond - Designer - Deborah M

Marshagay Raymond is a graduate of the University of Technology, Jamaica where she pursued her first love, fashion design. She graduated with honors and holds a BA degree in Apparel Production and Management.

Her brand, Deborah"M" is inspired by her late grandmother, Deborah Maxwell. Her tagline, "Be Bold, Be Creative, Be Different. Expression through fashion" depicts what her brand is all about.

Corvega was born out of the necessity to create. What started as a hobby, has flourished into a side hustle. Each piece is made by hand and undergoes an extensive creative process. Corvega is made to make women smile and feel their most beautiful.

Earth Month Boutique is a pop-up shop at Panache, an Aveda Salon in Saint Augustine Beach during the month of April. The boutique offers clothing, art and accessories from sustainable brands and local crafters including the featured collection from in-house designer Juliana Koutouzakis. Last season, Panache raised over $4,000 with Earth Month Boutique for The Matanzas and St. Johns Riverkeepers and all profits will continue to benefit our local environmental organizations.

“The Magnifique Collection, Created and curated by America’s Next Top Model alum, Victoria Henley, is designed to make women elegant and powerful-sassy, yet sophisticated. Magnifique is an all-inclusive collection, also offering pieces for men, children, full figure, and petites, supporting the notion that all shapes and sizes should be both included and embraced.

 

Blending vintage attire, dating back as far as the 1800’s, with custom pieces brought to life in conjunction with manufacturers from across the United States, the Magnifique Collection draws inspiration from empowered women in the mediums of music, literature, & art, including Frida Khalo, Gloria Steinem, and Dolly Parton, to name just a few.

 

The Magnifique Collection by Victoria Henley has been shown on runways ranging from New York, Los Angeles, Colorado, Atlanta, and New Orleans Fashion Weeks as Jewelry Television’s “Star Style”, an official after-show for “American Beauty Star” on Lifetime Network, for which she guest hosted and modeled.

“This year, my collection is perfect for the sunny summers of Saint Augustine. Inspired by the summer fashions of the 40s to the 60s, my line showcases great pieces for the beach, and sunny days spent outdoors. I worked in bright, fun colors and color blocking that would allow for interchangeable and convertible pieces that would work in many ways in a wardrobe. Versatility and Wearable through the summer were first in mind with this collection.”

“My love for fashion began at a young age growing up in the islands. I am usually wearing a bikini and then the creative process of designing bikinis came to fruition.”

Mahina Swimwear focuses entirely on women empowerment and self-love. My mission is to amplify women's confidence in themselves while wearing a bikini.

March 6 2020, Kierra Wilson, crochet designer, debuts her first full collection to the STAFW runway.

 

Kierra Krochet is a brand that promotes self expression, confidence, and a little bit of sassy attitude for the women who want to strut their stuff. Crochet is an art, that is not lost but, something I enjoy to embrace and share with the world.

Established 1977 in New Jersey, and now newly relocated in Jacksonville Florida. Elle Paris Fashions is looking forward to revealing garments that are Show Stoppers.

Noelani - Emerging Swimwear Designer, Kyla Cote -
“S/S 2020 collection I’m using a pastel color palette..ultra-feminine details...ruching, puff sleeves, ruffles, and unique wrapping.”

Kyla is no stranger to the STAFW runway. 2019 Bartram Trail High School Graduate & student designer of the Bartram Trail Fashion Academy, Kyla has created full ensembles for STAFW student showcase in addition to group design team.
“I drew inspiration from retro swimwear shapes and plan to mix vintage and modern styles... bend the rules of swimwear and create unique pieces that can be worn as tops and bodysuits...my previous collection I focused on learning the fundamentals of sewing swimwear. I now feel confident enough to produce a collection as an emerging designer.”
